The Monsson has Arrived in Nepal
The monsoon has arrived. Usually, it arrives in July but it’s early this year. It lasts for three months in Nepal. The sky is always overcast with rare appearance of the sun. It rains everyday either for some hours or the whole day without warning. Low clouds bring showers and drop it anytime anywhere they please. Thunder roars and lightning makes daylight blush in shame. Trees just listen while water drips from their leaves. Innumerable kinds of tiny green shoots have come out happily through the soft soil, and so have different kinds of insects. Occasionally, the pattering rain is followed by the whistling strong wind that violently shake the windows and mercilessly break the branches that resist their arrival.
black clouds roll, winds howl
lightning rips open the sky
rain lashes windows
But people are happy and happiest among them are the farmers as the monsoon has brought hope for them to survive whole year. They have finished planting rice, and are happy watching the slender plants smile coyly as the rain
gently touches them.
